The SAXONY_ANHALT_PROJECT: (2021/2022)
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) started in Saxony-Anhalt 2021 with the SACHSEN-ANHALT-PROJECT, an initiative to apply for the proclaimed EU funding. In its focus: Zeitz from the Burgenlandkreis - a structural change city and region in the course of the lignite phase-out. The NEB was looking for lighthouse projects whose postulated goal is to "create more sustainable, inclusive and beautiful spaces in places across the EU and involve citizens in green change at the local level." On May 4th, 2022, the five shortlisted projects were announced by the EU Commission. From Germany, the winner was the project in Munich-Neuperlach.
